As a Math Recovery Specialist, I am trained in current best practices. I use the first lesson to connect with the student and learn their goals for our work. I then use a variety of assessments to diagnose potential foundational gaps and tailor subsequent lessons to build the core numeracy skills for them to succeed, whether in 1st grade or 12th grade. While I specialize in supporting K-5 students, I most often help middle and high school students, and my knowledge base and experience allow me to teach complex topics in simple terms.
