About Myka
Currently a Math/Science major, will be pursuing a masters in mathematics in Fall 2020. I have multiple years of experience tutoring in lower level mathematics. I have three years of tutoring in the following math areas: college algebra, pre-calculus, geometry, and some calculus.

I try to base my teaching on the reasoning behind why things work. Math did not make sense to me until I started to see and understand why math worked the way it did, how different operations worked, and the proofs behind it. I hated math for about 14 years before I was able to understand and enjoy math, I understand where struggling students are coming from and their misconceptions because I have been there. I try to start my teaching by figuring out where the student is, what their level of understanding is, and then try to help guide them and give them some tips and tricks along the way.

If you need to cancel a lesson, you must inform me at least 2 hours in advance (except for an emergency situation). If you do not show up for a lesson, without notifying me, there will be a $15 cancellation fee.
