My teaching methodology is that I first give the student a test to figure out where they are battling. Thereafter noticing parts that they may not understand I then start explaining that topic in complete depth. I then give them activities so that they can practice on their own to see if they actually understood. After that I would usually conduct another test just to make sure they fully understand.
