Different learning styles are very important when it comes to learning difficult subjects. I like to take the time with each student to learn, and help them to learn, what their style of learning is so that I can teach them in the most effective way possible. Typically with students having difficulties in a certain subject or area, I like to start by asking them what already makes sense to them. By starting with what already makes sense, we can work together to connects dots in the trickier areas so that there is a uniform understanding as apposed to just memorizing rules and equations.
