About Wan

Hi, I'm Yoyo - a STEM enthusiast with a background in Engineering and Education. I love helping students discover the fun in science through hands-on activities like coding, robots and building homemade hovercrafts. As your tutor, my goal is fostering curiosity about the world through interactive lessons. My diverse experiences teaching in both Hong Kong and Canada help make learning engaging and meaningful. Let's solve some problems together in a supportive environment!

About the lesson

As a tutor with experience in both Eastern and Western education systems, I take an engaging approach to teaching math and science at the middle school and high school levels. A typical lesson would start with identifying student’s needs, presenting real-world examples or hands-on demonstrations related to the concepts they are struggling with. I would then guide the student through the lesson using lively examples and step-by-step practice problems to illustrate difficult concepts. Rather than simply lecturing, I encourage an active learning approach tailored to the individual student's needs. What sets me apart is my dual background in Mechanical Engineering and Education. I understand the subjects from an advanced perspective but can break concepts down simply. With my diverse learning experiences, I am skilled at assessing each student's specific strengths and weaknesses to target instruction accordingly.
