About Lucas

I am a dedicated flute tutor who enjoys helping students of all ages develop musical skill, creativity, and confidence. My teaching combines mentorship, critical thinking, creativity, and accountability. I focus on developing tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while nurturing expressive playing. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to develop complete musicianship. Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, composition, and musical storytelling. I guide students to set goals, practise consistently, and track their progress.

Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities and steps toward improvement. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, skill level, and personal interests. I act as a mentor, offering guidance, motivation, and constructive feedback. Lessons balance technical skill-building with creative activities to keep students engaged. I emphasise reflection, problem-solving, and independent thinking in every session. My goal is to build confidence, discipline, and curiosity in all students. I also teach related subjects such as performance preparation, rhythm, and theory. I create a positive and supportive environment where students feel encouraged. My ultimate aim is to help students become expressive, confident, and lifelong learners of music.

About the lesson

I teach flute with a focus on creativity, critical thinking, and structured learning. I believe that music should be enjoyable, meaningful, and inspiring. Each lesson encourages students to explore, reflect, and express themselves. I act as a mentor, guiding students to reach their goals while building confidence. Accountability ensures that students practise consistently and track their progress. Lessons cover tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to strengthen understanding.

Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, composition, and musical exploration. I encourage students to think critically about music and learn from mistakes. My teaching is flexible and adapted to different learning styles and levels. I create a positive and supportive learning environment. I emphasise curiosity, experimentation, and self-reflection.
