About Lizzie

Writing is something I have loved ever since I was a child. I can still remember being seven years old and writing my first "book" (a page and a half about a lion in huge handwriting!) and it's been something I've kept going ever since. I always think that every story is worth pursuing and I'd love to help you write yours. I have a Master's degree in Creative Writing for which I studied multiple forms of writing, including long fiction, radio, stage and creative non-fiction. This was an amazing experience and invaluable for helping me move forward with my own writing. Additionally, I have also won prizes for my work, and have self published a novel. I have also had poetry featured in anthologies while at school and have volunteered at a children's writing workshop, helping them edit and touch up pieces they had written to be included in a book. More recently, I have been working as an EFL teaching assistant in Spain and it is a job I love doing, but I am finding time to write as well!

About the lesson

Hi everyone! I'm Lizzie and thanks for checking out my page. I am a creative writing graduate holding classes for anyone interested in the subject. Whether writing is something you have never done before, a hobby you're looking to work on, or a career you've always dreamed of pursuing, you can find what you're looking for here.

Our lessons will be completely structured around what you are looking for. If you would like to work on writing purely for fun or if you already have a piece to focus on, we can work on it together. Different genres and types of writing can be covered, as can character development, plotting, the writing process and so much more.

Types of classes:

Creative Writing Classes: Covering different types of writing, different genres you can pursue, how to decide on characters, plot, style of language - just to name a few! Are you interested in writing but not sure where to start? Looking for a fun, no-pressure, no-judgement environment to put your first draft forward? This could be the option for you! Feedback will include constructive criticism, advise, proofreading and editing suggestions. £30 one hour.

Creative writing workshops (individual): If you already have an idea in mind or on the page, we can look at it together and decide how to develop and take the story forward again in a no-pressure and no-judgement environment. Will include feedback and discussion. £30 one hour.

Creative writing workshops (groups): Please note there must be at least two students in the class. If you would prefer to learn creative writing with a friend or maybe someone from class, this is a great place to share ideas and see the many forms creativity takes! Group workshops are always so much fun and allow you to get feedback from lots of people as well as see lots of examples of writing again in a no-pressure and no-judgement environment. Will include feedback and discussion. £20 each, one hour thirty minutes (time will depend on the number of students).

Also, while these classes are suitable for all types of creative writing, please bare in mind that I specialise in novel (long fiction) writing.
