About Robin
I worked as a special education aide in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms for 15 years. During this time, I also taught college-level writing and literature, and I was the writing tutor for students of all disciplines at the college. You're in good hands!

I have the ability to simplify writing rules so that even reluctant learners are able to understand them and apply them to their writing. I teach by providing clear instructions, showing students exactly how to apply what I'm teaching, helping students to work through some examples together, and then watching students apply the rules independently. I can work with you on sentence level errors, like grammar and punctuation. I can help you write topic sentences and support them with details. I can help you understand what a thesis is. I can show you how to create an outline for a longer writing assignment. I can help you find support from outside sources and to cite quotes from those sources. I can support you in your attempts to revise and edit. I can also help you acquire the skills necessary to interpret literature so that you can write something meaningful about it. I'm happy to work with students from junior high through college.
