About Diana

Hi everyone, My name is Diana Marica. I am a qualified History and English teacher. I have been teaching English and History for over 6 years. I graduated with honours from the National University of Maynooth. I have so much love and passion for both these subjects. More so I love teaching young adults like yourself. School can be such a wonderful and nurturing experience. However, it can also bring a lot of stress and uncertainty. I am here to help with anything and everything I can. My lessons will be filled with open discussions and visual aids. A place where you are comfortable and stress-free. Where exams will feel easier each time we put the work in together. About the lesson

I have been teaching English and History for over 6 years to teenagers ranging from 12 to 18 years of age. In classrooms of up to 32. So, I do know the pressure and stress that goes with prepping for your exams and figuring out school life in between. I am here to help every step of the way :) My objectives are simple. Your first lesson is always free and we spend a little time getting to know each other. We find out where you feel stuck, confused, and stressed. We then go from there. My lessons are 60 minutes long. You will always be made to feel comfortable and in a place where no question or confusion is silly. My way of teaching tends to be quite creative and visual, although I love books and note-taking, every teen and young adult is different and full of creativity. I kindly push things like Venn diagrams, bullet points, mind maps, and open discussions. I found out over the years of teaching teens that they perform increasingly better especially in subjects like English and History when they are allowed to voice their ideas openly. When they feel understood, they start to understand things differently. - I work with parents as well as their teens to understand where they feel stuck in the subject. - I look through their classwork, homework, and past exam papers to understand your teen better. - I have a chat with your teen's teachers to further understand where he needs help and how I can successfully use my acquired skills to help them further on. Furthermore, your teen will always receive advice and feedback in ways of - homework - sample exam papers - comparative writing and research - special research projects If you feel like you have any more questions for me, please feel free to contact me anytime. * Qualifications I have a master's in Education in NUIM - 6 plus years in teaching 1st-year students-6th-year students. - I have 3 years of experience in teaching special needs students - I am currently working towards a special needs degree in working with Epilepsy, Autism, Asperger’s, and Down syndrome among many others
