About Leonard
I have been a middle years teacher for the past 7 years. I have taught many different courses to different ages but have spent the most amount of time working with grade 7 and 8. I have a teaching degree and bachelor of arts from the University of British Columbia. I have a masters degree from Simon Fraser University in Curriculum and Instruction.

I am highly personable teacher who quickly gains rapport with my students through discussing, joking, and a genuine interest in them as individuals. When I teach, I employ many strategies to engage the diverse needs of my classroom. A typical class will begin with a short hook meant to capture the attention of each student. I want to relate the topic we are looking at to an experience that they have so that they can make stronger connections to the material, which of course, enforces learning. Next, I will tell the students what they can expect to learn during that class. Throughout each lesson, I return the goals of the lesson as well as the many connections that can be made to real life. I finish each lesson with a short wrap up of what the class has focused on.
