About Luke

I’m a down-to-earth and attentive tutor based in Manchester, where I completed my Master’s degree at the University of Manchester. I’ve lived here all my life and have always found myself teaching or mentoring others — whether formally or informally — even though it’s not my profession. I’ve got a natural aptitude for explaining things clearly and helping people feel more confident in their learning. If you need help making sense of complex ideas, structuring essays, or preparing for interviews or exams, I’d be glad to support you.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Luke. I’m based in Stretford, Manchester. I am Manchester born-and-raised, completing my Master’s degree at the University of Manchester in 2018. I know how stressful academic work can be — especially when you’re trying to juggle deadlines, big ideas, and pressure to get good results. I have A-levels in Maths, Physics, English and Geography, and an undergraduate degree in Geography. My master's degree was in the Management of Development Projects, which combined my academic interest (Human Geography) with my career (Project Management). I wrote two dissertations during my times at university, achieving a high distinction in my Master's degree dissertation. I offer one-to-one academic support in the social sciences & humanities, including essay & dissertation support, help with applications and interview prep. Open to students from GCSE all the way up to degree level. Whether you’re struggling to plan an essay, get to grips with a difficult concept, or just want someone to talk things through with clearly, I can help. My style is down-to-earth, but focused. I won’t throw jargon at you or waste your time — I’ll help you build confidence in your work, sharpen your thinking, and develop a clear style that gets results. I’m happy to tailor sessions to whatever you need: coursework support, revision, academic feedback, or even just help making sense of complicated reading. I also work with university students on dissertations and writing skills.
