About Gaireyah
I self-published numerous anthologies and perform poetry at numurous festivals. I write in Kaaps, Cape Muslim vernacular, Afrikaans and English. I hold an Honors in Afrikaans at UWC. Hold a Masters in Arts for Creative writing at Rhodes University. I represented SA in China's Poetry festival and at the Lankawe literary festival in Malaysia. My collection, een voet innie kabr won the Eugène Marais and UJ- literary prize. I mentor and assist upcoming writers with self-publishing and developing their craft online and in-person. I teach my curriculum locally and abroad. I do translations from Afrikaans and English to Kaaps and from Kaaps to English and Afrikaans. I have a vast writing network in the industry.
