About Harper
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 10 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music Education in Strings (Violin). My passion lies in group instruction, where I specialize in ensemble classes, orchestral sectionals, and chamber music coaching. I believe that learning in a group nurtures musical growth, teamwork, and shared joy. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with youth orchestras and school ensembles, guiding students through the unique demands of ensemble playing. I focus on developing strong listening skills, helping students blend their sound and tune effectively within a group. My approach emphasizes musical sensitivity and awareness, fostering a cohesive and expressive ensemble. I also train young musicians in leadership, especially those taking on the role of concertmaster. I coach them in confidence, cueing, and setting the tone for the group. My sessions are structured yet encouraging, allowing students to take musical ownership and grow together. Whether coaching small chamber groups or full string sections, I ensure every student contributes meaningfully.
