About Layla
I am a violin tutor with a Graduate Diploma in Violin Pedagogy and over 7 years of teaching experience. My lessons integrate music theory, aural skills, and sight reading into daily practice. I specialize in preparing students for music theory exams and strengthening advanced harmony understanding. Practical exercises in scales, intervals, and harmony are taught through bowing and fingering techniques. I work with exam candidates and students who want to enhance overall musical fluency. Lessons combine technical skill with theoretical knowledge. Sight reading and ear training are emphasized to develop confident musicianship. I focus on phrasing, articulation, and expressive playing. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s skill level and goals. I aim to create a strong connection between practical violin skills and music theory. Students gain confidence and fluency in both playing and understanding music. My teaching nurtures well-rounded violinists with solid theoretical grounding. My approach prioritizes pitch accuracy and developing a sensitive musical ear. I use drone practice to train intonation and awareness of subtle pitch differences. Students learn to play in tune across all positions. I work with aspiring pop stars and classical vocalists to refine their sound. Every lesson is tailored to help notes ring true and precise.
