About Laurel

My teaching methodology is built on creativity, flexibility, and real-life connections to make piano learning fun and meaningful. I use real-life examples and case studies to explain musical concepts, helping students see how music connects to everyday life and inspiring them to explore beyond the notes. I encourage students to be creative, try new ideas, and express themselves through performance and composition. Flexibility is key — I adapt lessons to match each student’s learning style, pace, and goals, ensuring they feel supported and challenged in the right way. Collaboration is also an important part of my teaching. I motivate students to share ideas, work together, and learn from each other, building confidence and teamwork skills. Besides piano, I also teach related subjects like music theory and composition, giving students a complete and well-rounded musical education.

About the lesson

With 8 years of tutoring experience, I have had the joy of teaching Piano to over 250 high school and college students. My passion for education goes beyond teaching notes and techniques — I aim to inspire my students to truly connect with music and express themselves through it. I believe that every student has unique potential, and my goal is to help them unlock it with patience, encouragement, and creativity.

Throughout my career, I have guided students in preparing for school recitals, competitive exams, and college auditions, celebrating many success stories along the way. These milestones remind me why I love teaching — watching students grow in skill, confidence, and passion for music. I take pride in creating a supportive and positive environment where students feel motivated to push their boundaries and achieve more.

For me, teaching Piano is not just about building technical skills but about developing a lifelong love for music. I encourage students to explore performance, theory, and composition, giving them a complete understanding of the art. Whether the goal is to excel in academics, perform on stage, or simply enjoy learning, I am committed to guiding each student on their personal musical journey.
