About Janey

Currently, I work as a teacher at a language school teaching students from all over the world. I am also a published researcher in ESL/EFL educational policy.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and running my small porcelain teapot business on the side at local markets.

About the lesson

My lessons are interactive and personalized to your needs. Since I have experience teaching all levels and ages, I am familiar with adjusting to fit your goals best.

I have a Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages with a focus on teaching writing and grammar (but I love to teach listening, speaking, and test preparation too)!

I have worked more specifically teaching students from Latin America (Chile, Peru, Brazil, etc.) and Asia (South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, China, Thailand, etc.) However, no matter where you are from I would love to learn all about you and your culture.

A typical lesson plan from me changes depending on the student. For young learners, I try to add games, activities, and exciting elements to the class so that students feel engaged.

For my adult learners, I try to find a good routine which builds good habits and language retention into the class. I try to make topics interesting and relevant to you.

I have a special certification in Teaching Business English on top of my MTESOL and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification.
