About Nirmal

I helped my fellow students since high school, mainly with Mathematics and Economics. However, English has always been one of my strengths and favorite subjects. In class 6 I wrote the Victorian dialogue for my Shakespeare theater performance. Furthermore, I was able to help two fellow students at university level (Master) with their academic English: giving tips for professional English and giving feedback on their synthesis paper. I am happy to state that both received a sufficient score for their paper.

About the lesson

As a teacher I am approachable, open to suggestions and try to explain as much as possible to your understanding. Depending on what you would like to learn, know or practice more about as a student, I will structure the lessons (adapted to you or a group). A general format of the lesson can look like this:

-Introduction:
We start with an example or practice question on the subject in question to introduce it a little. Then we continue with a few more examples and a short round of questions about these examples.

-Core: Based on the examples, we slowly approach the rules of the subject, which is the more technical side of the lesson. This is followed by a round of questions (or they can be asked per sub-topic).

-Wrap up: On finishing up the lesson, the main points are briefly repeated and examples / exercises are given. Then we conclude with a final question round. This can be followed by suggestions.

I mainly focus on tips to fluently read English, ways to expand your (academic) vocabulary, writing correct English and prepare for the TOEFL iBT test!

In case specific lessons are requested on a subject where I need to do additional research for myself, the rate can increase with an additional € 1. However, I try as much as possible to maintain the regular rate per lesson :)
