About Emma
I am a Bachelor of Criminology graduate from Deakin University, where I achieved an overall result of approximately 85%, and I am currently completing a Master of Social Work at the University of New England.
I am also an independent Indigenous researcher with a particular interest in child protection, youth justice, institutional power, social policy and Indigenous justice. My research is publicly available through ResearchGate.
Alongside my academic experience, I have worked as a training manager, funeral director and aged-care worker. These roles have given me practical experience in teaching adults, supporting people through difficult circumstances and explaining complex information clearly.
As an Aboriginal woman, I bring a culturally informed and critical perspective to social work education. I aim to create a supportive, respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.

My lessons are tailored to your individual learning needs, assessment requirements and areas of difficulty. I can support undergraduate social work students with social work theories, ethics, reflective practice, child and family practice, social policy, critical analysis and culturally responsive practice.
I can also help you unpack assessment questions, plan essays, strengthen arguments, understand academic readings, improve referencing and develop your own academic voice.
My approach is supportive, practical and non-judgmental. Rather than simply telling you what to write, I help you understand the material and build skills you can use throughout your degree.
Lessons are held online and can focus on course content, assessment planning, draft feedback or general academic skills. I provide ethical tutoring only and do not write or complete assessments for students.
