About Fernanda

I am Fernanda. My life is a constant balance between the rigor of the tech world and the warmth of craftsmanship. Living in beautiful Viña del Mar, Chile, I define myself primarily as an eternal learner who thrives on transforming complex processes into something tangible and achievable.
My Tech Side
I am a Full-stack developer and a Data Science student. I am passionate about the logic behind data and web development; I spend much of my time immersed in Python, JavaScript, React, and SQL. My training has provided me with a highly disciplined work structure: I break down large problems into small, manageable tasks, apply debugging techniques, and always strive for efficiency. I apply this same analytical methodology to my teaching: I don’t just explain theory; I help my students understand the logic behind the language so they can overcome any obstacle on their own.
My Creative Essence: Entre Crochet y Palillos
This creative venture is where my technical side meets my sensitive side. Beyond just knitting, I develop patterns, organize inventory, and have even designed my own web platform to manage my projects. To me, crochet is an extension of my technical mindset—it requires patience, precision, and the ability to understand a structure that grows stitch by stitch. If something goes wrong, I simply "undo" and correct it—a mindset I apply to every aspect of my life.
Community and Values
Logistics and management are some of my core strengths, which I practice with dedication within the youth division of the Viña Rugby Club. Being part of the Manque community has taught me about teamwork and the value of connection. In my personal life, I love spending time with my husband, Rodolfo, our son, and our pet, La Pepa. I also share a very close bond with my sisters: Anto, Belén, and Jo.
What I bring to our sessions
I consider myself a facilitator who truly understands what it’s like to be in the student's shoes. As I continue my own intense studies in Data Science, I never forget the frustration—or the satisfaction—of learning something new. When I teach—whether it’s programming, knitting, or Spanish—I don’t offer rigid, one-size-fits-all lessons. I offer:

A developer's clarity: I organize knowledge into modules so that nothing feels overwhelming.
Genuine connection: I listen to the real needs of my students and adapt my methods to your pace and personal goals.
I am a firm believer in the power of organization and the magic of creating things with my hands—whether it's computer code, a knitted piece, or a fluent conversation in my native language. I am always looking for ways to make learning a logical, clear, and, above all, rewarding journey.

About the lesson

Learning a new language is a lot like learning to code: it’s about understanding the underlying patterns, structures, and logic. However, unlike code, a language is meant to be felt, experienced, and shared.
My teaching approach is built on three pillars:
Logical Structure: I don’t believe in overwhelming you with endless lists of rules. Instead, I break down Spanish into manageable, logical modules. We will focus on the "why" behind the grammar, making it easier to remember and apply.
Conversational Focus: Language is a tool for connection. My goal is to get you speaking from day one. We will talk about real-life topics—from technology and crafts to travel and culture—so you can practice in a context that actually interests you.
Customized Feedback: Just as I use debugging in development to find solutions, I will help you identify the "bugs" in your speech and writing. We will work together to refine your skills at your own pace, ensuring you feel confident rather than intimidated.

Tailored Content: Whether you are a total beginner or an advanced learner looking to polish your fluency, I will adapt my material to your specific goals and interests.

Practical Application: I focus on "living" Spanish—the way we actually speak it here in Chile and across Latin America—not just the rigid version you find in textbooks.
