About Tennison

¡Hola!

Me llamo Tennison y soy una profesora de español.

My name is Tennison and I am a qualified Spanish teacher.

Since I was a child I have had a passion for language learning, always trying to practice any word or phrase I knew in a different language with anyone who would listen. Thus, it was no surprise that I fell in love with teaching languages while living in Spain in 2018. This passion led me to pursing a Master of Teaching, with a speciality in modern languages in 2020/21. Since then, I have been teaching Spanish at local schools in Brisbane and tutoring curious and open minded adults.
Over the past 2 years I noticed the lack of support and attention foreign language learners with unique learning backgrounds have received. It is a particular passion of mine to support students of all learning backgrounds and make language learning as accessible as possible. Some ways I have previously done this is through
- visual aides
-lots of scaffolding and relying on the "I do, we do, you do" method
- audio-pictorial dictionaries
- well structured learning sequences
- adjusting activities and content based on the students needs and interests
- providing supports to alleviate the cognitive load of early stage language learning

I am a very passionate teacher who is in your corner cheering you on every step of the way.

-I teach language learning strategies as well as the language itself (so you don't need to rely fully on me to achieve the goals you set)
- Resources are adapted to support unique learning needs (dyslexia, neurodivergence, etc).
