About Aimee

With over 10 years of teaching experience and a degree in music, my piano lessons are designed to build a strong foundation while encouraging personal growth and creative expression. I begin with beginners by focusing on essential skills such as hand placement, note reading, and rhythm exercises. As students progress, I introduce more advanced concepts such as chord progressions, scales, and music theory. I believe in making lessons enjoyable and engaging by incorporating a variety of musical genres, including classical, jazz, pop, and contemporary styles. I also emphasize ear training, helping students develop their listening skills, which in turn improves their ability to play by ear. I encourage creativity through improvisation and composition, providing students with opportunities to express themselves musically. Additionally, I offer performance coaching to help students build confidence and refine their stage presence. My goal is to inspire a love for music and help students reach their full potential, both technically and creatively.

About the lesson

I bring over 10 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor’s degree in music performance to my piano lessons, offering a personalized approach to each student. Every individual has their own learning style, and I adapt my lessons to ensure the student’s journey is both enjoyable and effective. Whether you're a beginner just starting out or an advanced player looking to refine your technique, I’m committed to helping you achieve your musical goals. My beginner students focus on learning basic hand positions, fundamental scales, and basic rhythmic patterns, ensuring a strong foundation from the very first lesson. For intermediate and advanced students, I introduce more complex music theory, advanced sight-reading, and various stylistic interpretations. I believe it’s important to expose students to different genres of music such as classical, jazz, and pop, which helps them not only become more versatile musicians but also discover which genres speak to them the most. I incorporate ear training into each lesson to help students develop an intuitive understanding of music, and I focus on developing improvisational skills to encourage creativity. Additionally, I offer regular performance opportunities, giving students the chance to gain confidence and showcase their progress. I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to excel.
