About Arthur
I have over 15 years of experience teaching piano to college students, focusing on developing both technical skill and artistic expression. My teaching style is student-centered, flexible, and designed to meet each learner’s unique goals and pace. I combine traditional piano techniques with creative approaches such as improvisation, music composition, and blending classical with contemporary music to make lessons engaging and interactive.
I emphasize technique, sight-reading, rhythm, music theory, and performance confidence, while also encouraging students to explore their personal style and express themselves musically. My mission is to create a supportive, motivating environment where students feel challenged, inspired, and confident. I strive to help every student progress steadily, enjoy the process of learning, and cultivate a lifelong love for piano and music.

My teaching methodology for piano is creative, structured, and student-centered. I aim to mentor students while helping them grow into independent musicians.
Creativity is central to my lessons. Students explore songs they enjoy, practice improvisation, and engage in creative exercises. This keeps lessons fun, inspiring, and motivating.
As a critical thinker, I help students understand rhythm, scales, chords, hand coordination, and musical expression. I simplify complex concepts so students can analyze and improve their playing step by step.
Accountability is emphasized through goal setting, structured practice routines, and regular progress tracking. This helps students stay disciplined and committed to their learning.
In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, keyboard basics, and simple composition to strengthen musical foundations.
