About Ani

I am thrilled to extend my services as a personalized maths tutor for children aged 10-15. With an MSc in Energy Systems and Data Analytics from UCL, my academic background has equipped me with a deep understanding of complex subjects, which I am adept at simplifying for a younger audience.

My approach to teaching is heavily influenced by my own experiences as a student and the valuable support I received from personal tutors. I understand the limitations of traditional one-to-many teaching methods and focus on tailored, one-on-one interactions that cater to the unique needs and pace of each student.

Supported by my mother, a retired middle-school teacher, I aim to create a nurturing and effective learning environment. About the lesson

Teaching Techniques and Methodology:
My approach to tutoring is student-centred, focusing on individual needs. I believe in helping children build confidence in their abilities so that they can look forward to tackling new challenges rather than shying away.

My methodology includes:

Diagnostic Assessment:
Initially, I assess each student's current understanding and identify areas for improvement. This will involve an open discussion with the student.

Customized Lesson Plans:
Based on the assessment, I create personalized lesson plans that cater to the student's learning pace and style.

Regular Practice:
Emphasis is placed on practice problem sets, which are tailored to gradually increase in difficulty as the student progresses.

Feedback and Adjustment:
Continuous feedback is provided, and lessons are adjusted based on the student's progress and feedback.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
Each lesson typically lasts for about 60 minutes, including a couple of breaks. This duration is optimal for maintaining focus and allows enough time to cover topics in depth without overwhelming the student. However, this can be adjusted based on the student's age and attention span.

Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
I hold an MSc in Energy Systems and Data Analytics from UCL and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. My academic and research experience has equipped me with the skills to explain complex concepts in an accessible manner. While I am relatively new to formal teaching, my background in preparing extensive technical reports for non-technical audiences has honed my ability to convey intricate information clearly and effectively.

My lessons are primarily intended for students aged 10-15.
