About Lyric

I am a French tutor with over four years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in French and Francophone Studies. I specialize in helping high school and university students who find grammar and essay writing challenging. About the lesson

My teaching approach is based on helping students use French confidently in real-life situations. I start with everyday conversations, simple dialogues, and pronunciation drills to build a strong base. Students learn how to greet, ask questions, order food, travel, and handle daily interactions using natural expressions. I focus on vocabulary retention through spaced repetition, flashcards, and short speaking activities so words stay in long-term memory. To refine pronunciation, we practice mouth placement, sound imitation, and listening to native speakers. I also introduce regional variations of French so learners understand accents from France, Canada, Belgium, and beyond. For those learning French to connect with their roots or to travel smoothly, I provide cultural context, real-world phrases, and confidence-building speaking sessions. Grammar is taught in simple steps and always linked to how people actually speak. We practice reading short texts, role-playing real-life situations, and writing messages or emails in French. I use audio clips, beginner dialogues, and interactive exercises to make learning dynamic and engaging. Students are also encouraged to keep small vocabulary journals to track daily progress. Mistakes are seen as part of the process, not something to fear.
