About Lauren
Meet Your Tutor – Lauren De Koker Teaching English is more than a job for me—it’s a passion rooted in years of learning, growing, and helping others succeed. I hold a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of the Free State, specializing in English Home Language and Life Orientation for the Senior and FET Phase. I’ve gained valuable experience through teaching practicals, tutoring learners across different grades, and developing lessons that are both engaging and effective. What makes teaching so interesting for me is that every student is different—each brings unique goals, strengths, and challenges. I thrive on tailoring lessons to suit your individual needs, using real-life examples, creativity, and a supportive approach that builds confidence. I also enjoy reading, writing, and working with communities, which inspires me to bring real passion and purpose into every lesson. My goal is simple: to help you use English confidently and meaningfully in your life.

What makes my English lessons different?
My approach goes beyond worksheets and memorization. I offer dynamic, personalised lessons that adapt to your level, interests, and goals—whether you need help with grammar, writing, speaking, reading, or exam preparation. Each session is interactive and practical, filled with real-world examples, creative activities, and constant feedback to ensure progress. I create a comfortable space where mistakes are welcomed as stepping stones, not setbacks. With me, you won’t just learn English—you’ll use it confidently in everyday life, academics, and the workplace
