About Brittany
Across twenty years of teaching I have trained 1040 students, many preparing seriously for demanding examinations, competitive university admissions, or the highest academic writing standards available anywhere. My own training was rigorous and systematic, and I firmly believe measurable discipline, not vague comfort, is what separates genuine writing skill from casual competence. I am demanding and direct in every piece of feedback I give, because ambiguity wastes a student's limited preparation time before something genuinely important. Students working with me always know precisely where they stand, with detailed data tracking their exact progress over many months. I am not suited to a relaxed hobby class. Every lesson opens with structured diagnostic assessment, tracking grammar accuracy, argument structure, and vocabulary range against explicit standards logged carefully in a long term spreadsheet. I correct immediately and without softening the message when a sentence is weak, since delayed correction lets flawed habits become permanent limitations. Practice essays are assigned strategically to target a student's weakest measurable area, never simply chosen for convenience or comfort. Timed mock assessments under strict conditions occur frequently, since comfortable practice rarely predicts confident results under genuine formal exam pressure.
