About Jeffrey

I am an economist and journalist with extensive experience both in the professional world and as a tutor. I worked as an economist at an international organisation in Paris for six years before coming back to the UK, where I studied for my master's in econometrics and mathematical economics. I work as a freelance journalist in my spare time, and love London for the diversity of people, cultures, food, and experience -- and I'm hoping to get a better taste of that diversity by tutoring students from different universities in the city!

About the lesson

I like to start from the beginning of the course (or where students start to experience difficulties), making sure that they understand concepts before moving on because everything builds on each other! At the same time, I am pragmatic and realise that most students are preparing for exams -- I also work with students on prior exam questions.

Each lesson is at least 1 hour long, although I can go for longer sessions if students so desire.

I have tutored students from UCL, Imperial, Queen Mary, and other universities in economics, mathematics, and the sciences since I was myself a student in London. I was also a class teacher and a summer school teacher at the LSE.

I prefer to teach at the degree level but can also teach A-level students.

Perfect! Jeff was great at breaking down complex notions and making sure I understood the intuition behind them. He was very supportive and gave me confidence in my skills. It was great learning econometrics with him - before these tutoring sessions I truly thought I had no chance in passing the course! But now I am going into the exam with so much more knowledge and understanding than I had only two weeks ago.

She already has a strong foundation with the material and is quick to grasp new concepts. She should have more confidence in her knowledge and make sure to remember her subscripts when manipulating equations -- and if this is her biggest problem, she'll be fine for the exam :)
