About Elaina
I am a passionate chess tutor with 7 years of experience teaching college students. Over the years, I have successfully guided 150–200 students, helping them develop strong skills, confidence, and a love for the game. My teaching philosophy is centered on clarity, creativity, and adaptability. I believe that every student has unique strengths, and I design lessons to match their learning style while challenging them to grow.
In my sessions, I focus on key areas such as openings, tactics, endgames, positional understanding, calculation exercises, and game analysis. I encourage interactive learning through puzzles, real-game practice, and scenario-based exercises. Communication and patience are important to me; I make sure my students fully understand concepts and feel supported while learning. Creativity is emphasized, allowing students to explore imaginative strategies and develop original approaches on the board. I also stress integrity and sportsmanship, teaching students to play thoughtfully and ethically.
Many of my students have achieved significant milestones, including improving tournament performance, mastering complex strategies, and gaining confidence in competitive play. Whether preparing for competitions, online matches, or casual games, my goal is to make learning chess engaging, structured, and rewarding. I am dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential while enjoying the challenge and excitement of the game.

I aim to make learning chess engaging, challenging, and rewarding, helping students build confidence, master strategy, and develop a lifelong passion for the game.
