About Taylor
I earned a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of the District of Columbia in 2015. Since then, I have become a certified teacher in DC, Virginia, Florida, and am working toward my Ohio certification.
I have taught 3rd and 4th grades, and worked in a 1st grade classroom while completing my degree. In Virginia, I was awarded First Year Teacher of the Year for the school and district in 2016. In the Florida Keys, I was named Inclusion Teacher of the Year for the school and district in 2019. I have the following endorsements on my teaching license: Reading, Exceptional Student Education, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Math Grades 5-9, and Civics Literacy.
Building relationships is very important to me. I absolutely love my students and teaching!

I like to be silly and make learning fun. Sometimes I might bring a puppet ... sometimes I'll teach you songs to help memorize. I always like to incorporate my pets! I have 3 cats, 2 dogs, a chicken, and a bunny!
A typical lesson will include something fun to get my students interested in the content, modeling, practicing together, and applying the new knowledge with games!
Most of my lessons are tailored toward helping elementary students be successful with challenging math concepts. I aim to ensure that all students grow in confidence, skills, and abilities.
