About Jan
I am an innovative, knowledgeable teacher and offer unique, varied learning approaches in drawing ,painting and sculpture. I adore watercolor and working with clay both hand built and pottery wheel. I am on the eccentric side of abstract!I will teach you art styles such as Imaginary realism, surrealism, realusm, fantasy, realistic -portraits and caricatures. I teach desgn and illustration. I teach beginners., intermediate and advanced learners. I make learning fun,engaging and interesting!

I am a graduate of The University of Texas @Austin in Visual Arts Studies, Biology and Education. I am a certified Professional Visual Arts teacher and artist. I have taught private lessons in music and art. I have assisted choir at middle school level, taught 9 to 12 grade art, drawing, painting, sculpture, design , clay, and photography. I taught AP 2D Draw and AP 2D Design.
I have science and medical background. I emphasize interdisciplinary learning and culture. I am a highly skilled individual, had 4.0 in college, very committed to educational excellence. I am heavily influenced by Southwest art and culture. I have spent many summers in Santa Fe, New Mexico, learning and enjoying the rich diverse culture and Annual International Indian market.
