About Jon
I have more than 45 years experience in martial arts instruction with black belts in Judo, Taekwondo and Goshinjutsu (blended martial arts emphasizing practical self-defense versus sport competition. I was the Judo Instructor at Tallahassee (Florida) Community College for five years and taught martial arts programs for the Miami-Dade Schools and cities of Coral Gables and Tallahassee Parks & Recreation. I am a former Police Officer and military veteran.

I am skilled at tailoring martial arts/self-defense programs to the specific needs and physical abilities of my students. I believe a building a strong foundation of knowledge and physical conditioning in order to ensure techniques can be applied effectively in a self-defense context. To do this, I incorporate extensive drill training and repetition practice designed to enhance speed, focus, power and automatic reactions.
