About Dianna

I hold a bachelor's degree in English and a master's in secondary English education, both from the University of Florida.

I began my career as a high school English teacher, guiding students through literature, essays, and the occasional Shakespearean debate.

Later, I homeschooled my own children, which taught me to tailor lessons to each learner's pace and personality.

Today, I'm a copywriter, crafting clear, compelling stories for nonprofits and mission-driven organizations around the country.

That combination means I understand both how students learn and how good writing works outside the classroom.

I also tutor English language learners, helping them build the confidence to speak, read, and write with ease.

I'm patient, encouraging, and organized, and I take every student's goals seriously.

Whether you're catching up, getting ahead, or learning English from the ground up, I'll be a dedicated partner in your learning.

About the lesson

Hi!

I'm Dianna, a former high school English teacher, former homeschooling parent, and marketing writer with 10+ years of experience. I teach reading and writing as practical, powerful tools, because I use them every day.

My approach:

Lessons are conversational and hands-on.
We read, discuss, and write, breaking big skills into small, doable steps.
My feedback is specific, so you understand what to improve and why.
English language learners get plenty of low-pressure speaking practice, where mistakes are part of the process.

A typical lesson:

Quick warm-up
Focused skill (close reading, grammar, essay structure, or vocabulary)
Hands-on practice
Short wrap-up with next steps

Every plan adapts to your goals; we can always focus on a specific challenge you have in mind.

What sets me apart:

I've taught English in the classroom, at the kitchen table, and on the job. I know curriculum, I know how to adapt to individual learners, and I know what strong writing looks like in the real world.

Who my lessons are for:

Learners of all ages and levels: young readers, middle and high school students, college students, adults, English language learners, and homeschooling families.
