About Jennie

A passionate language learner, fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. Began public speaking competitions at the age of 5. 3rd Place in the 14th and 15th World Contest for Chinese Students and 2nd Place in 16th Youth Chinese Composition Competition. I began tutoring year 10 in Queensland Academy of Health Sciences as part of the school tutoring programme, offering general and homework help to the students. This experience enabled me to feel confident in tutoring especially for the International Baccalaureate Mandarin Ab initio course. As I personally knew the teachers I was able to offer them advice which specifically allows them to flourish in combination to their teaching methods. Jelena was a main student of mine who I helped throughout years 11 and 12. I assisted her on areas such as oral, reading comprehension, and writing. She graduated IB with a 6 out of a maximum of 7 in Ab initio Mandarin. She knew that she could access my help at any time and that I would always be there for her. About the lesson

Enthusiastic tutor willing to explore students' interests in an innovative manner. Flexible teaching methods custom-made for every student. Inclusion of homework optional though recommended. Perfect! Jennie is a great teacher, I absolutely enjoyed our lessons. She has a deep knowledge not only of Chinese language, but cultural aspects and historical facts, that made studying more interesting. She is a kind and patient tutor. I was a complete beginner in Chinese, so the task was quite challenging. I would definitely recommend Jennie to all levels and all ages.

Alena was an intelligent student who knew exactly what she wanted to learn and was a pleasure to teach. She has prior experience with learning other languages hence my job was not difficult as I simply had to answer her questions.
