About Krystal

Outside of tutoring, I’m a passionate dancer, podcast host, and lifelong learner. I'm a huge K-pop fan, a coffee enthusiast, and a proud cat lover. I enjoy staying active through sports and am currently learning how to swim — proving it’s never too late to pick up a new skill! I love connecting with people and believe learning should be both effective and enjoyable. I wasn’t always a straight-A student — in fact, I used to struggle with Maths during my GCSEs and often found myself falling behind. Everything changed when I met a teacher who took the time to explain things patiently and encouraged me to think for myself rather than just memorise solutions. That support transformed not only my grades but also my confidence, and ultimately helped me get into LSE. That experience is why I teach. I believe every student has the potential to do well when they’re given the right guidance, and I aim to be the kind of tutor who makes learning clear, encouraging, and empowering.

About the lesson

Teaching Approach: My lessons are structured but flexible, focusing on building strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. I break down complex ideas into simple steps, and tailor my methods to suit each student's learning style. For Maths and Sciences, I emphasise step-by-step reasoning and exam technique; for Chinese, I offer both conversational practice and structured grammar/vocabulary work. Lesson Length: Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, but I can adjust the duration based on the student's needs and attention span. Qualifications & Experience: I hold a First Class Honours degree in Management from the LSE and achieved 4 A*s at A-Level (including Maths, Further Maths, Economics, and Physics). I am a native Chinese speaker and fluent in English. I have over 100 hours of tutoring experience, gained during both high school and university, teaching students in Maths, Economics, Physics, and Chinese across GCSE and A-Level levels. Who I Teach: I work with secondary school and sixth-form students, typically aged 13–18, preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, and entrance exams. I also teach Chinese to both heritage learners and beginners of any age.
