About Maira

Hi, I’m Maira.
I’m a French tutor with international academic experience in Canada and France, currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Economics at the University of British Columbia.

I studied French and law in Lyon, where I lived and learned in a fully French academic environment.

As a non-native speaker who reached an intermediate to advanced level (B1/B2), I understand the challenges students face when learning French, and how to overcome them effectively.

About the lesson

I specialize in helping students build confidence in speaking, improve grammar and sentence structure, and prepare for school French, exams, or travel.
Learn real, conversational French, not just textbook phrases!

Having learned French as a second language myself, I understand exactly where students struggle, and how to explain concepts clearly and patiently.

My background in psychology helps me adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, whether you’re a beginner or intermediate (A1–B2).

Lessons are personalized, supportive, and practical, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with cultural insights from my time living and studying in France.
