About Joliana
I am an educator with eight years of experience working with children in both academic and supportive roles. I have a background in special education, having served as an Instructional Assistant for special needs students in the Irvine Unified School District for five years. I currently work as a substitute teacher in both the Irvine and Capistrano Unified School Districts and intern as a school counselor at an elementary school in Irvine. I also support students through Raising Rainbows, an after-school program. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills and am pursuing my Master’s in Educational and Clinical Counseling at Azusa Pacific University, along with an LPCC track. My tutoring approach is warm, individualized, and rooted in child development. I’m comfortable incorporating Waldorf-style and whole-child learning approaches, as well as outdoor and play-based strategies when appropriate. I offer flexible scheduling, including weekday evenings and weekends, and am open to expanded summer hours. Non-smoker, pet-friendly, and reliable transportation. My tutoring approach is student-focused and adaptive. I begin by understanding each student's learning style and individual goals, then tailor my lessons to suit their specific needs.
