About Guilherme
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Guilherme Barroso has an intense international career as a lutenist and teacher. Guilherme holds a Master in Lute Pedagogy from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, supervised by Peter Croton, a Master in Lute Interpretation from Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK), where he was a student of Eduardo Egüez and Bachelor in ancient music / lute in the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo do Porto (ESMAE) where he studied with Ronaldo Lopes. He also holds a Bachelor in Management (Valéria Matos) and a Master in Historical Musicology (Prof. Dr. Marcelo Fagerlande) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

Methodology focused on the needs and objectives of the student. Instrumental teaching (Lute, Theorbo, Baroque Guitar and Basso Continuo) focused on treatises and historical and modern methods. Teaching music theory as it was taught in the 16th and 17th centuries: Notation, Solmization, Modes, Counterpoint, Compositional and improvisation techniques, etc.
