About Eszter

My name is Eszter and I am currently a student at the LSE, studying Anthropology and Law with aspirations to become a lawyer. When I was younger, I was intelligent but had behavioural issues, which often prevented my teachers from giving me the focus and guidance I needed. This sentiment demotivated me for a long time, but in year 9 my history teacher mirrored my potential to me, and this was life-changing: I became confident and pursued education beyond my circumstances. I was given a scholarship to attend a prestigious boarding school, and have been passionate about access to good education ever since. I believe that the greatest barriers to good quality education go beyond money: it is also the impatience and overworking of educators. I believe that as a tutor, I can channel my patience and kindness to others following in my footsteps, and have an impact by allowing my tutees to believe that anything is possible and that knowledge is so vast and accessible to all.

About the lesson

Lessons take place typically at the length of an hour of teaching/guided revision, with an additional 15 minutes of recap at the beginning and 15 minutes of reflection/preparation for the time ahead until the next session (total of 90 minutes, of course, may be amended to suit your style and needs). I have been a tutor for A-Level Economics for over two years during my time at university, having completed my A-Levels in 2023 (gaining full marks on my macroeconomics essay). I volunteered as a tutor for over five years, working with a variety of ages, from 9 to 18. My proudest voluntary work was tutoring Politics, History and Economics to bursary students at my former College, where I too was a recipient of a bursary place. I have helped many people apply for universities, something I particularly enjoy doing. I believe that the best way to tutor is through listening to the needs of my tutees and putting myself in their shoes to see the problem from their perspective, then teaching them in a way which speaks to your understanding. I have four brothers, so patience is my virtue :)
