About Ariana

I am a student pursuing a double major degree in secondary English education and Environmental Engineering. I completed early college at Azusa Pacific University, where I developed a love for environmental science and a passion for English. I have a strong background in English, science, and social studies with professional tutoring experience as well as education coursework. I am very patient, understanding, and accommodating for different learning styles. I have tutored as well as been a student in the following courses AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Lit, AP European History, And AP Lang
I have additional experience with:
-elementary and middle school mathematics (pre-algebra concepts)

-AP Environmental Science, High School Biology and Chemistry

About the lesson

I approach each topic with an open heart— I am very encouraging and creative. I believe they EVERYBODY has the potential to grow and often times we limit ourselves through stress and feeling as though we simply cannot master a subject. I strive to help students preserve and conquer.
Our first meeting would revolve around me getting to know you, accessing your comfort level, and learning more about your concerns as well as your weaknesses and strengths. We might spend the first half of the lesson chatting as we get to know each other on a more personal level — you set the pace! If you’d like to jump straight into learning I’m all in! Or, if you would prefer to take it slower and need some time to open up, I am a great listener!
After the first lesson I would be able to personalize a route for you— that might look like tackling your big term paper, or freshening up on grammar rules and the more technical side of writing, maybe it would look like studying for that AP Environmental Science test, or perhaps it would look like going over your last chemistry test as I provide feedback, showing you step-by-step where you went wrong and how to correct it.

I am also quite kid friendly, I have experience working as a substitute teacher for Lakewood’s ECE program— and I am excellent working with kiddos. Anywhere from elementary mathematics to speech coaching.
