About David
I'm David, a second-year Linguistics student at Cambridge with 6 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s at GCSE, and 3 A*s at A-Level, looking to share my knowledge with students of those levels and help them hone their skills at analysing texts through critical lenses and seeing the deeper meanings behind a writer's chosen words. I have experience tutoring GCSE students in English Literature for hour long sessions after school, and experience tutoring KS3 students in a variety of subjects (mostly Modern Foreign Languages) as a teaching assistant in-lesson. I'm deeply passionate about language of all forms, both the application of foreign languages and English itself - investigating the use of language is just as enjoyable as sharing my techniques with others.

Lessons are usually 45 minutes to 1 hour, 1-to-1 over Zoom, and focused on either a set text or an unseen piece at GCSE or A-level. With 1+ day(s) of preparation I can read over any materials you might want to study in the lesson and apply materials from my A-level or GCSE course (depending on your level of study) such that my teaching is tailored both to the text you are studying and the level at which you are studying it. With regards to unseen texts or general literary theory, I can provide interesting texts related to your course content and help with more general analytical techniques.
