About Elan
I am a rising fourth-year linguistics student at the University of Virginia. Through a lifetime of academic and extra-curricular writing, I have developed a complete set of tools for crafting an effective essay. The writing method that I employ is designed to unlock all of the tools that are needed, precisely when they are needed, to maximize clarity. Its value is reflected in the success of my own writing, and the success of my peers who I have advised in the past.

My lessons are offered to high school or college students with plenty of strong ideas, who simply find it difficult to communicate those ideas in a formal, academic tone. I can help students improve their writing for a wide range of purposes, including (but not limited to) school essays, standardized tests, and college applications.
The biggest priority for me is ensuring that each student is able to figure out where he or she would like to grow as a writer. From there, I provide insight into my own solutions for whichever component of the writing process that the student seeks to improve. This piece of insight will allow us to work together on a method for consistently finding solutions whenever the student needs to execute that task in the future. Ultimately, my approach is about adding new tools and learning when to use them so that future writing troubles can be solved quickly and easily.
