About Maasa

As a native Japanese speaker with academic background in Canada , I provide clear, structured and engaging lessons that are tailored to each student's individual goals. Whether you are a complete beginner or wish to improve your grammar, speaking or writing skills, I will help you build a solid foundation and gain confidence in real-life communication :) I am patient and detail-oriented, and I am committed to explaining concepts in an easy-to-understand way. My lessons are well supportive and adapted to your pace, so you can feel comfortable asking questions and making steady progress. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where you feel motivated, capable and confident in your Japanese skills.

About the lesson

Any questions about Japanese are always welcome! I aim to create a relaxed and comfortable environment where you can feel confident speaking and asking anything, without worrying about making mistakes. My lessons mainly focus on conversational Japanese, helping you speak more naturally and confidently in real-life situations rather than preparing for exams. That said, I’m also happy to explain grammar and academic concepts clearly whenever you need support.

A typical lesson is flexible and tailored to you—we might start with a quick review, then move into conversation practice, useful phrases, or topics that interest you. If you prefer, we can also simply chat about Japanese culture, daily life, or anything about Japan you’re curious about (and I can explain things in English if needed). My goal is to make learning enjoyable, practical, and stress-free while helping you gradually build confidence.

My lessons are great for beginners to intermediate learners, especially those who want to improve their speaking skills, learn natural expressions, and feel more comfortable using Japanese in everyday situations. I focus on making lessons feel approachable and personalized, so you can learn at your own pace and actually enjoy the process.
