About Maria Berna
Hello! My name is Maria, and I am a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) with a degree in Engineering Technology and over 3 years of teaching experience. I currently teach both in the classroom and online, helping students from elementary school to college level develop their mathematical skills and confidence.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students from different backgrounds, learning styles, and academic levels. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in their understanding of mathematics.
I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals, whether they need support with homework, exam preparation, foundational concepts, or advanced topics. I believe that every student can succeed in mathematics with the right guidance, encouragement, and practice.

I teach Mathematics to students from elementary school to college level and have experience tutoring students from different countries and curricula, including Singapore, UK, US, and Canada.
My teaching approach is patient, interactive, and tailored to each student's learning style. I believe that mathematics becomes easier when concepts are explained step by step and connected to real-life examples. During lessons, I focus on building understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills rather than simply memorizing formulas.
A typical lesson includes a review of previous concepts, guided practice, worked examples, and independent problem-solving with support and feedback. I also provide worksheets and additional practice materials when needed.
