About Meghan

Hello! My name is Meghan, and I am a licensed former high school math teacher, TEFL-certified ESL tutor, and experienced online educator. I bring more than 20 years of teaching, tutoring, and instructional coaching experience to every lesson.

I have worked with students from elementary school through adulthood in math, English language learning, test preparation, study skills, and executive functioning. My background includes supporting learners with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, anxiety, learning differences, and academic gaps, so I understand that students do not all learn in the same way.

Families and students can expect me to be prepared, dependable, patient, and encouraging. I create structured lessons with clear goals, use materials that match each student’s needs, and communicate progress in a straightforward and supportive way. I believe students learn best when they feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again without embarrassment.

My goal is always to help students build both skills and confidence. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for an exam, improving English fluency, or becoming more organized and independent, I meet them where they are and help them make steady, meaningful progress.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Meghan! I am a licensed former high school math teacher, TEFL-certified ESL tutor, and experienced online educator who works with students from elementary school through adult learners. I teach math through Algebra 2, support English language learners with speaking, reading, grammar, and confidence, and help students build executive-functioning skills such as organization, planning, time management, study habits, and task completion.

My approach is encouraging, structured, and personalized. I begin by getting to know how each student learns best, what they already understand, and where they feel stuck. From there, I break skills into clear, manageable steps and use visuals, guided practice, real-life examples, games, conversation, and repetition when needed. I especially enjoy working with students who have ADHD, autism, anxiety, learning differences, or difficulty staying organized and motivated.

A typical lesson includes a quick check-in and warm-up, targeted instruction on one or two goals, guided practice together, and independent practice so the student can show what they understand. We end with a short review, a confidence-building win, and a clear plan for what to practice next. For executive-functioning coaching, lessons may also include creating assignment trackers, breaking down larger projects, organizing materials, setting priorities, and building routines that actually work for the student.

What sets me apart is that I combine strong academic instruction with patience, flexibility, and genuine encouragement. I have many years of classroom and online teaching experience, and I know that success is not only about getting the right answer—it is also about helping students feel capable, understood, and proud of their progress. My lessons are for students who need math tutoring, ESL support, academic confidence, test preparation, or practical executive-functioning tools to become more independent learners.
