About Akshara

I am a grade 9 high school student in Lethbridge. I have been playing music since I was in Elementary school and I have been playing piano for 6 years as well as flute for 4 years. Music has always been something I've loved and I hope to make it something you love too. My goal is to teach others who want to learn the piano! I have done many piano practical exams and theory exams in the past, so I know what it's like to take your piano to another level.

About the lesson

I will be teaching piano lessons starting at the beginner level all the way up to the intermediate level. If your child is new to piano, this will be a great class for your child too as I have taught family who were beginners as well. The average age I would like to teach is between 4 - 14 year-olds. My teaching methods are all based on the understanding of how to approach a piece and play it. I will change it up and try new techniques to see what will work best for your child. For beginners who have no clue about the piano, I will explain the basics of the piano step by step, (hand position, how to read a piece on the staff, etc.) For others who have a basic understanding of the piano, we will work on a few pieces and some technique (scales, and more) so that we can go further with the playing, (rhythm, articulation, etc.) For those who know how to play the piano at a decent level, we will start some more difficult pieces and work on some more complex concepts. I may even help get your child ready for a piano exam if that's the direction your child wants to go in. A typical class for students will be customized according to their needs. I will be there for your child, and will help them with whatever they need.
