About Vijith

Hi, I’m Vijith—a lifelong lover of numbers, patterns, and problem-solving. But I didn’t always find maths easy. In fact, when I was younger, I struggled with it too. It wasn’t until I met a teacher who truly understood how to explain things clearly that everything clicked for me. That moment changed my life—and inspired me to become the kind of tutor I once needed. With over seven years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with students of all ages and abilities, from Year 3 pupils just learning their times tables to A-Level students preparing for university entrance exams. I hold a degree in Mathematics and Education, and I’ve completed multiple professional development courses in cognitive learning, student motivation, and differentiated instruction. My tutoring style blends these insights with a calm, supportive, and results-driven approach. What makes my teaching effective? I believe in making maths meaningful. I connect abstract concepts to real-life situations to help students grasp the "why" behind the numbers. My sessions are interactive and always focused on student thinking—guiding learners to figure things out for themselves, not just memorise answers. Every lesson is carefully planned but flexible, usually lasting 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student's needs and goals. I provide regular feedback, personalised homework, and progress updates. I also use tech tools like virtual whiteboards and interactive quizzes to keep online lessons just as engaging as in-person ones. My students have gone on to achieve top grades, win maths competitions, and—most importantly—develop a genuine confidence in their abilities. Some even tell me maths is now their favourite subject, which, honestly, is the best reward I could ask for.
