About Kandace

I have just completed sixth form with an A*AA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I believe I would make a great tutor as I have excellent communication skills that I have developed from my work experience placements and volunteering. I volunteered at a cancer research shop for 6 months where I improved my organisation skills and communication skills. This will help me communicate with the students more effectively. I have also helped multiple year 11 and 12 students in my previous sixth form Queen Elizabeth’s Girls’ School with biology and chemistry. Including organising independence and democracy day for the younger years in year 7 to 9, where I presented multiple presentations and organised activities such as quizzes to help students understand. This has helped me understand a students’ weaknesses and strengths and create multiple ways for students to understand vital content they are tested on. During my IGCSE years I was incharge of organising a leading kisongo day where children from the local school in Tanzania came to my school(st. Constantine's international school) and were taught basic english and maths. In 2017 I attended the model united nations that helped me enhance my communication and leadership skills as well as team working abilities that would prove vital in communicating with students of various backgrounds.

About the lesson

My teaching Methodology is first knowing what exam board the students are learning from so I can be as precise as I need to be. Then determining the students struggles in particular topics and working on improving those first. I am a very friendly person who is easy to communicate to and students will not be as afraid of being wrong or being corrected or learning as I am 18 and near their age. I can explain to them easily in multiple ways how to approach questions and understand what is being asked of.
