About Tyler
I’m a Chemistry tutor specialising in A-Level and University students who are underperforming despite effort. I hold an MChem (Master’s degree) in Chemistry and have over 4 years’ experience tutoring higher-level students, including working as a PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) programme coordinator at the University of Manchester.
I don’t focus on memorisation or re-teaching content students already “recognise”. My strength is identifying why marks are being lost and fixing those issues quickly through structured, exam-focused work. I primarily work with students who want measurable improvement and are willing to commit to a clear plan.

My lessons are diagnostic-led and exam-focused. If you feel like you understand Chemistry but your exam results don’t reflect it, the issue is usually exam execution, not intelligence.
Each lesson follows a clear structure:
- Identify the exact exam objective
- Break down how marks are awarded
- Expose common mistakes and weak reasoning
- Drill representative exam questions
- Require clear verbal explanations to lock understanding
This approach is designed for grade recovery, exam preparation, resits, and transitions (A-Level to University). I may recommend a structured programme rather than one-off sessions where that’s what’s needed to achieve real improvement.
If you’re looking for occasional homework help, this likely isn’t the right fit. My focus is consistent exam performance and results under pressure.
