About Ruth

Hello! I'm Ruth, a native Indonesian speaker. With a deep understanding of the Indonesian language and culture, I have over five years of experience teaching both Indonesian and Korean. Currently, I teach at Surabaya Cambridge School, Masa Depan Cerah High School, and Xinchong Junior High School. Additionally, I provide lessons through online learning platforms and at Rumah Bahasa Surabaya, contributing to programs organized by the Surabaya city government.

Teaching is my passion, and I strive to create a rewarding and enjoyable learning experience for my students. As a native speaker, I am dedicated to helping you grasp Indonesian naturally, focusing on accurate pronunciation, clear grammar, and everyday conversation. I am also experienced in teaching Korean.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy maintaining my health and sharing beauty tips. I also like dancing and playing games to relax. I look forward to guiding you in your journey to learn Indonesian or Korean.

About the lesson

With over five years of experience teaching both Indonesian and Korean, my journey has taken me through a variety of educational settings, each enriching my teaching methods and approach. I am currently teaching at Surabaya Cambridge School, where I lead classes in Indonesian and Korean. My focus here is on creating engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse student needs, from beginners to advanced learners.

At Masa Depan Cerah High School, I specialize in teaching Indonesian. In this role, I emphasize practical language use, helping students improve their conversational skills and cultural understanding. My lessons often include role-playing activities and real-life scenarios to make the learning experience both effective and enjoyable.

My teaching experience also extends to Xinchong Junior High School, where I teach Korean, using a variety of innovative methods to ensure students grasp complex grammar and vocabulary. Additionally, I provide personalized instruction on Superprof, where I adapt my teaching style to fit the unique needs and goals of each student, whether they are looking to improve their speaking skills or deepen their understanding of Indonesian culture.

Moreover, my role at Rumah Bahasa Surabaya, a program supervised by the Surabaya city government, allows me to contribute to language education at a community level. Here, I work with a broad spectrum of learners, from young students to adults, helping them achieve proficiency in Indonesian through tailored lesson plans and culturally relevant content.

I hold a TOPIK II Level 4 certification in Korean, which enhances my ability to teach Korean effectively. However, my primary focus remains on Indonesian, where my role as a native speaker gives me a unique edge in providing authentic language instruction. My teaching methodology includes using interactive tools like language learning apps, flashcards, and multimedia resources to make lessons engaging. I also incorporate real-life conversational practice and cultural insights to ensure students not only learn the language but also understand its practical use.

My educational background features extensive self-study and formal training, supported by interactions with native speakers and academic exposure from Korean universities. I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment, aiming to help each student achieve their language goals with confidence and success.
