About Matthew
I graduated drama school in 2021 with a BA in Musical Theatre. Ever since then, I have a wide range of professional performing jobs, such as educational theatre, VoiceOver and cruise ships. I have a wide range of real life experience to draw on, having had a 9-5 career, long before I had my eyes set on a performing career. I have a high expectations of all my students, and I apply those exact high expectations to myself and my practice as a performer and a teacher.

My aim to create an environment where my students can grow in confidence so they can harness and grow their talents.
I'd like to share a special story. I had a new student, a young girl of nine years old. I had never met her before, so I chose some script material which I thought would be appropriate for her age group. She read it very well, at a level far above her age. So I said to myself, let me see how far I can push her. I pulled out a copy of A Midsummer Night's Dream from my backpack, and gave it to her. She started reading, and again, she blew me away with her reading ability. I said to her, do you know how good you are at reading? She explained that her high school teacher said she wasn't good at reading. And you know what, I saw in her face she believed she wasn't good at reading either. So, I made it my mission to change that, and within a matter of weeks her confidence had improved and she started to recognise her talents. I'm very proud of her.
